* NOTICE OF GIFTED SERVICES PROCEDURAL SAFEGUARDS & DUE PROCESS PROCEDURES PURSUANT TO N.C.G.S. § 115C-150.7(b)(7)

Welcome
to The Capitol Encore Academy's AIG Program. In conjunction with our Local Plan for the Education of the Gifted, the division has made a number of improvements to our K-12 program.
Programs at the elementary level continue to identify and develop high-ability learners from all student populations. The goal of the TALENT Program in grades K-2 is to identify students who have the potential of being formally identified as gifted in grade 3 and frontload information. The TALENT Program works with these children to further develop their cognitive abilities. The grades 3-8 program infuses differentiated science, technology, engineering, and mathematical (STEM)instruction into the elementary gifted classroom with real-world project opportunities. Classroom and resource teachers collaboratively develop and deliver instruction to meet all students' needs. An expanded course catalog at the high school includes FTCC Connections, Project Lead The Way Science Courses, and Honors courses.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We enthusiastically welcome both new and returning participants to our program.
Sincerely,
Coordinator of Gifted Education
AIG MISSION, VISION, AND VALUES

Mission
At The Capitol Encore Academy, we believe that AIG Students should receive appropriate differentiated instruction from trained teachers that address individual needs. We believe that our gifted and talented program must have a broad base representation of students from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. These students will have resources to maximize their potential as appropriate to their educational needs and talents. In addition, the social-emotional needs of gifted students should be recognized and addressed.
